DOWNTOWNDALLAS
is a privately funded 501(c)(6) organization with approximately
200 member companies. Affiliated organizations include Dallas
Civic Ventures, Inc. and the Central Dallas Transportation
Management Association.
The MISSION of DOWNTOWNDALLAS is to promote the interests of Downtown. Since 1958, DOWNTOWNDALLAS has served
as the leading advocate for Downtown – its businesses,
residents, employees, visitors and cultural, entertainment
and educational institutions – and has built a strong
foundation for a successful and vibrant Downtown.
WHAT WE DO
- Represent our membership before government and community
agencies
- Advance incentive programs to spur economic growth
- Promote public facility needs for commerce, government,
the arts and entertainment
- Foster public-private partnerships and redevelopment projects
- Coordinate and support planning activities

and help shape Downtown by participating on active committees

RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Continuation of the residential renaissance, including support of an Intown Housing development plan which has created over 20,000 units since 1996.
- Representation on the Trinity Commons Foundation Board to advocate the Trinity River Project.
- Creation of the Downtown Parks Master Plan.
- Launch of the Downtown Safety Patrol, including 31 Safety Patrol Officers with a focus on Downtown's public saftey needs.
- Introduction of the Mobile Information Kiosk program.
- Installation of Phase I of the Signage and Way finding program.
- Continuation of the Matching Grants program, leveraging over $550,000 in private investments.
- Creation of the City Center TIF in 1996 and the Downtown Connection TIF in 2005.
